Cat Carriers

This is how you can get a kitten accustomed to a carrier:

Place the carrier in the kitten's play area and put a towel inside so that it can be used as a bed. It is a good idea to also put some paper inside and to feed your cat its favorite food in the carrier. Leave the door open at first. After a few days food can be given and the door closed. When you let your cat out, give lots of TLC and the carrier will soon be associated with good things. Always use a carrier to transport your pets. If they escape in strange surroundings, they quickly disappear.

Carriers should be well made and have a secure locking device so that it cannot be opened by a clever cat. A frightened cat may eat through a cardboard or wicker carrier and should never be left unaccompanied.
