Bathing
and Clipping Procedures
Bathing
After the introduction between your pet and our groomers,
your dog or cat is ready for the bath, which includes:
-
Brushing: Your pet is first gently brushed or combed out to
prevent further tangling or matting.
-
Shampooing: Your pet is put into the tub and thoroughly rinsed
with warm water, then shampooed with a tearless, hypo allergenic flea-controlling
shampoo. For the second shampooing, we use a deep cleanser shampoo
that conditions as it soothes
-
Ear Cleaning: The ears are cleaned with a professional ear
cleaning solution. If they appear inflamed or sensitive to the touch,
you will be notified and encouraged to have your pet examined by your
veterinarian.
-
Nail Trimming: Nails are trimmed with a professional clipper.
Keeping nails short is a very important health care measure and also
makes walking easier, especially for the older dog.
-
Drying and Brushing: Your pet is then thoroughly towel dried
and put in a kennel next to a warm dryer. The final step is for your
pet to be hand dried and carefully brushed out. Cats are thoroughly
towel dried, but often are allowed to air dry as they are particularly
sensitive to even the most quiet dryer.
Clipping
Shampoo chez'
professional groomers complete most body work with clippers. All legs,
head and tail are hand scissored. The time required for this stage will
vary depending on the size of the dog, style of the clip and the cooperation
of the dog or cat.
When you drop-off your pet, allow ample time to give our staff specific
instructions as to how you want your pet clipped. We will give you a pick-up
time to come back for your pet. As animal lovers, we do not wish to keep
your pet confined longer than necessary. Your dog or cat can go home soon
after he/she has been groomed.
